I love working in Cary, North Carolina.
There’s always something to do and never a dull moment. Ranked #5 on Money magazine’s list of “Best Places to Live,” Cary—located less than 20 minutes from downtown Raleigh—is teeming with activity, growth, and fun activities.
From restaurants serving delicious food to exciting business opportunities to beautiful nature and outdoor experiences, there’s something here for everyone.
Out of all the entertaining activities Cary offers, here is a list of my absolute favorites.
Enjoy A Beer-Lover’s Paradise
If you like craft beer, you’re going to love Cary. Some of the more established breweries include Cotton House Craft Brewers, Bond Brothers Beer Company, and Fortnight Brewing Company—but it seems like new breweries are popping up everywhere.
The neat part about breweries in Cary is that many are pet-friendly, so if your friends are busy, you can have a beer date with your furry friend.
Hit The Golf Course
Cary boasts a wide range of courses perfect for every type of golfer. Some of my favorites include Lochmere Golf Club, Knights Play Golf Center, and Prestonwood Country Club.
Whichever course you choose, you’re sure to have a blast.
Join In A Tech Meet-Up
In Cary, it’s easy to find a group of friends with similar interests to hang out with. I personally love participating in the many different tech meet-up events in the area. It’s a great way to network with others and through which I’ve built many lasting friendships.
Relax In Nature
The parks and recreation opportunities in and around Cary are incredible. In Durham, our neighboring town, you’ll find the gorgeous Sarah P. Duke Gardens—the perfect place to take a stroll and visit the koi ponds. Umstead State Park, located in Raleigh, is another one of my favorite spots for camping and hiking.
Take A Weekend Trip
Another great thing about Cary is that if you ever need a change in scenery, you have a diverse range of options—all within a day’s drive. With Cary’s central location, you can visit Washington, D.C., to the north, Disney to the south, the beach to the east, and the mountains to the west.
