Why I Became A Financial Advisor

Most of us can point to specific people or events that influenced our decisions and made a significant impact on how we live our lives. For me, it was the example of my grandfather and the sudden passing of my father that motivated me to become a financial advisor.
My grandfather has always been one of my primary role models, sharing his passion for sports and investing. He let me pick his brain about both topics and encouraged me to pursue finance as a career when sports didn’t work out. I already had that spark of interest in the financial industry when I lost my father to a stroke. My family was completely unprepared to handle life without him and we only made it through with the help and support of family, including Todd, my business partner and uncle. This life-changing moment in my teen years gave me a passion to help others avoid the financial stress of losing a family member.
My Career Journey
Once I discovered my desire to spend my life helping others find financial peace of mind, I took the steps to gain the education and experience necessary to do the job with excellence. I obtained my bachelor’s degree in finance and financial management services from the University of Central Florida and spent time working as a financial analyst and client services manager, acquiring knowledge about financial markets, economic conditions, life and health insurance, retirement planning, and commercialized banking.
When I had the opportunity to move to North Carolina, it only made sense to partner with Todd and embark on our journey as financial advisors together. This was the birth of Family Legacy Financial Solutions. Today, I act as managing partner, investment advisor representative, and financial advisor, serving clients in a way that educates and empowers them to take control of their financial lives.
The Ups And The Downs
No matter how much you love your job, there are always challenges that come along with it, such as helping people see the big picture of their finances and realize that change needs to happen and decisions need to be made so they can set themselves up for an ideal financial future.
Despite some of the hurdles, the best part of my job is also the mission of our firm: providing relationship-based services focused solely on our clients. I love it when a new client partners with us and becomes a member of our family. Above all else, I am passionately devoted to building relationships. I see every day as an opportunity to meet new people and grow the Family Legacy Financial Solutions family.
